To override the default billing rate for a task when the task is performed for a specific client:

From a client perspective
- In the main menu, select Clients.
- On the Clients screen, drill down on the name of the client you wish to edit.
- On the Client details screen, select the Details. tab.
- In the Billing section, click + Add Custom Task Rates.
- In the drop-down list of tasks, select the checkbox for each task that you want to create a custom task rate for. As you select each task, it is added to the Custom Rates table below the drop-down list.
- For each task in the list, type a value in the Custom Billable Rate/H column. This is the new billable rate for the task when it is performed for the selected client. The original billable rate for the task is shown under the Standard column.
- Save your changes.

From a task perspective
- On the toolbar click the Settings
icon.
- On the General tab, make sure that the Tasks section is selected.
- On the Tasks screen, drill down on the name of the task you wish to edit.
- On the Editing Task screen, select the Custom Client Rates tab.
- Click + Add Custom Client Rate.
- In the Add New Custom Client Rate dialog, view or change the client rate settings, as required.
Field Description Client The name of the client to apply the custom rate to. Select a client from the drop-down list. Billable Rate The custom hourly billable rate for the task when it's performed for the selected client. Type in the required custom rate (dollars and cents). - Add the new custom client rate. The client name is added to the list.
- Save your changes.
- On the toolbar click the Settings
The custom client billing rate you set for a specific task and client will be used regardless of whether Task Invoice Rate is set to Staff Billable Rate or Task Billable Rate.
