To change the name, type or other features of a job status:
- On the toolbar click the Settings
icon.
- On the General Settings tab, make sure that the Job Settings section is selected.
- On the Job Settings screen, make sure that the Job Status tile is selected.
- Click the Name of the job status you wish to edit. The Edit Job Status dialog is displayed.
- If required, change the name of the job status. You might want to change the name to match a stage in your own job process, or just to correct a spelling mistake.
- If required, make other changes as follows:
- Select a Status Type other than Standard.
- On Hold jobs are not displayed in the Overview, Task Manager or Calendar views, leaving more room for active jobs to be displayed.
- Completed jobs will be archived out of Job Manager, but time and costs accrued will still be invoiced.
- Cancelled jobs will be archived out of Job Manager and any time and/or costs accrued will be written off.
- Choose where you want jobs with this job status to appear.
- Select My Jobs to have jobs appear in the My Jobs - job status notification box for the staff member it's assigned to. This notification box is displayed, at left, on the Dashboard and on all screens under the Jobs menu.
- Select Schedule to have jobs appear in the job schedule for the staff member it's assigned to.
- Choose if you want to prevent data entry. This can be useful if you need to prevent staff from accidentally recording time or costs against a job (when the job is on hold, for example).
- Select Disbursements to prevent a job with this job status from having disbursements A disbursement is a payment made by an organisation or individual to a third party and then on-charged to (or claimed back from) the client. coded against it.
- Select Timesheets to prevent a job with this job status from having time added to it.
- Customise the colour of the Job Status's background, border, and text.
- Select a Status Type other than Standard.
- Save your changes.
- If necessary, drag
the edited job status into the correct place in the list of job statuses.
The order of job statuses controls the order that job statuses are listed in the Status drop-down list on the Job Manager and New Job screens. The order should reflect the stages in your company's job workflow.
