To edit the details of a client:
- In the main menu, select Clients.
- Drill down on the name of the client you wish to edit. Client overview information displayed.
- To edit the client's address information, scroll down and click on an address to open the Edit Address dialog. Edit address details, as required.
Field Description Addresses Address Type Select the address type: - Billing (physical street) Address
- Postal Address
Address Look up Physical address. matches the street/apartment number and street name progressively as you type. Type your client's physical street address. - If a full matching address is displayed, select it from the dropdown list. The remaining address fields are populated automatically.
- If there is no matching address, click into the Street Address field. Type the Street Address and complete the remaining address fields manually, as required.
Address Town/City State/Region Postal/Zip Code Country Type the start of the required country name to scroll directly to the country. Default Address A client can have a multiple Billing Addresses and Postal Addresses. One Billing Address and one Postal Address can be set as the default address for the client. The default address is used as the client's address in custom print templates and custom reports. - To edit other client details, select the Details tab. Edit the client details, as required.
Field Description General Name The full name of the client. For example: Archway Business Contracts Limited Client Manager Usually this is the person who "won" this account and who engages directly with the client. When you create a new job for this client, the account manager you set at the client level will be the default for the job; however it can be changed for a specific job, if required. Business Structure (Premium only) The business structure of the client organisation such as company, partnership or individual. Configured in > General > Client Settings > Business Structure.
Job Manager This is the person who manages the work for this client, and could potentially be the same as the account manager. When you create a new job for this client, the job manager you set at the client level will be the default for the job; however it can be changed for a specific job, if required. Contact Details Phone A generic contact phone number for the client. You can set up additional phone numbers for specific contact people when you set up client contacts. Fax Email A generic contact email address for the client. You can set up additional email addresses for specific contact people when you set up client contacts. Referral Source The way that the client heard about your organisation, such as a Google search, for example. For further details, see the Referral Source help article. Website Tax and Company (available fields vary depending on user location)

Text input for Australian Business Number (ABN) or Withholding Payer Number (WPN).
Balance Date
Select the balance date month from the drop-down list.
Branch/CAC/ICA #
Text input for Branch, Client Account Code (CAC), or Industry Classification Number (ICA).
United Kingdom
VAT Number
Text input for Value Added Tax (VAT) number.
Company Number
Text input for company registration number.
Year End Date
Select the year-end date month from the drop-down list.
New Zealand
IRD Number
Text input for Inland Revenue Department (IRD) number.
NZBN
Text input for New Zealand Business Number (NZBN).
Company Number
Text input for company registration number.
Balance Date
Select the balance date month from the drop-down list.
Other countries (rest of world)
Tax Number Text input for tax number. Company Number Text input for company registration number. Year End Date Select the year-end date month from the drop-down list. Billing Zero Rated Tax If this is an overseas client and you are exporting to them, you may not be required to collect sales tax, so select this checkbox to set the sales tax on your invoices at 0%. Client Type This field can be selected only if you have already created one or more client types A client type is a named set of payment terms, used to ensure consistency across your client base. For example, you might set up two client types: Premium, with a markup rate of 30% and payment terms of by 20th of next month, and Standard, with a markup rate of 40% and payment terms of within 7 days. When you add a new client, you can then allocate Premium or Standard payment terms, as required. .

Markup % If you have selected a client type, the Markup % is inherited from the client type selected. Enable custom markup Select this checkbox to unlock the Merge % field so that you can specify a custom Markup % value for the client. Invoice Due Date If you have selected a client type, the Invoice Due Date is inherited from the client type setting. Enable custom invoice due date Select this checkbox to unlock the Invoice Due Date field so that you can specify a custom invoice due date for the client. + Add Different Billing Details Work performed for one client can be billed to another client (the 'billing client') if required. For example, a parent company might be billed for work done for a subsidiary. If work for the current client is to be billed to a different client, select that client here. Invoices will then show the name of the billing client, even though the work is for the original client.
+ Add Custom Task Rates This is used when you are billing on task rates only (it has no effect on staff rates). For example, you may do some work for a not-for-profit organisation at a discounted rate. So where you may normally charge $200 per hour for client meetings, you can set a custom task rate for this client where you only charge $100 per hour. -
Save Changes.
To discard any changes without updating the client details, click Discard or select another tab or menu option.
