For tracking and reporting purposes, it is very helpful to have every quote or estimate recorded in the Lead Manager, even if the quote or estimate did not start out as a lead A lead is a possible sale opportunity for a new or existing client. .
This feature allows you to retrospectively create a lead from a quote or estimate.
The lead is linked to the original quote or estimate through the lead information screen Quotes tab.
Creating a lead from an existing quote or estimate
To create a lead from an existing quote or estimate:
- In the Business menu, select Quotes.
- (optional) Click the FilterA filter provides a quick way to display only selected clients, jobs, quotes or estimates, work in progress, invoices and purchase orders based on pre-defined criteria. button (at right) and select the required filter options.
- Drill down on the number of the quote or estimate you wish to work with.
- On the quote or estimate information screen, select Options > Create lead from quote:
- The quote or estimate or job name is used as the name of the new lead.
- The State of the lead is set to Active.
- The lead information screen (Quotes tab) is displayed.
- Select the Notes tab:
- Click + Create Note.
- In the New Note dialog, provide the following information, as required.
Field Description Title Type a title for the descriptive information about the lead.
Description Type information about the lead.
- Save your changes. The note title and description text is added to the Notes tab.
