Editing a Custom Field

To edit details of a custom field:

  1. In the Business menu, select Settings > Custom Fields. The Custom Fields screen is displayed, showing the name, type and usage of all currently defined custom fields.
  2. Drill down on the name of the custom field you wish to edit.
  3. On the Edit Custom Field screen, edit the field information.

  4. Complete the field information as follows, depending on the field type.

    If you plan to change the name of the custom field as part of your edit, make sure that you follow these field naming guidelines:

    • Try to ensure that the custom field name is descriptive of the purpose of the field.
    • Avoid creating duplicate field names.
    • Follow the capitalisation standard used for existing fields. For example: Phone Number rather than Phone number.

  5. Under the Usage section, select (or deselect) data tables, as required. The custom field will be used only in the data tables you have selected.
  6. Save your changes.
